I bet if you look at the tax benefits he came out ahead already. It had nothing to do with environment or global warming and everything about his tax rate.
He can get a lot more positive PR talking about investing to research global warming than he can by saying he did it to pay less taxes. make no mistake about it, the main reason is the taxes. |

Yes i agree with what your saying. Ofcourse he is going to benefit he's an entrepreneur.
The thing is though, his aircraft are responsible for a lot of pollution. His airline is not even near the biggest in the world and he is donating money to his comany to try and think of greener alternatives.
I'm not aware of any other airline companies doing this.
Good on him. He's investing in change. |

hmmmm - still drinking then?!! It is because the research which will be done is for the benefit of the earth. It is also because even if it is his own company, such ventures are usually funded by other methods - not an individuals personal fortune. Yes, Branson is very good at PR but dont let your dislike of that cloud your vision - this man is one of the very few who would make public the research findings without compunction and incorporate them into his companies. |
