Should I Get out of this stock NOW?
Ok so about a week ago I bought into "OCNF" Oceanfreight Inc. I bought at 23.55/share, the stock has gone up to 24ish then for the last several days has been falling like a brick back down to 22.90ish. Jim Cramer predicted this stock to go up to 32$ on news of the company's great quarter, and announcement of their first dividend. The Announcements came and the stock actually went down, although the financial information was very positive. He seemed to portray it as a relatively short term time span, but im a little concerned that its going to go so far "South" that the dividend and any gains will be eaten up by what I’ve already lost... it fell 5% yesterday alone. Everyone's (www.caps.fool.com) opinion seems to be very positive that it will outperform the market. Any Opinions?
Additional Details
could someone speak specifically to the stock that asking about please? I am not a new investor i do understand how the market works... i just wanted some opinions on this.

I don't understand buying a stock for a simple, low dividend as the price of the stock is always adjusted down for the dividend paid on ex-date.

However, I looked into the company a little.

I could find four firms that provide analyst coverage of OCNF. Two have buys and two have neutral ratings. Ferris Baker Watts recently lowered their rating from buy to neutral on 7/26/07, apparently after the 2Q earnings announcement. The other firms are Cantor, OppCo and B of A.

Cantor is the most bullish, with a target price of 28 in a recent updated report on 7/30/07.

Royce and Associates filed a recent 13F showing that they bought about $12.5 million worth of stock (report filed 8/1/07).

Since you say that you're not a novice in the stock market, why did you buy the shares and what if anything has changed that would make you rethink your analysis, other than the stock going "south?"

No no no, if the info is still positive, hold onto it. This is a crazy time with stock market right now. You'll probably see the increase once things settle down- give it at least a few months...

bizzbagg
keep it if the company is still fundamentally sound. you might want to buy some more shares too.

I would love to have a complete answer to your question, but if I say I can answer that question, not only am I better than Jim Cramer, but I would also be a liar. The entire market has been stumbling a bit these 2 weeks. Last week was a minor market correction. This week was mixed emotions in the market causing indecision, which explains why it's up 1 day and down the next. This creates congestion in the market. I do believe that if this is a minor correction, the market should slowly make its way back up by the end of next week. However, if the correction continues, the drop may be stronger than last week, because it will trickle a major sell-off.

I hope the information I provided was helpful. I am not a specialist in analyzing stocks rather I am a licensed Forex expert. If for any reason, you'd like to take a look at new investment opportunities. Feel free to email me at

stocks are meant to be held for awhile - they all go up and down in the short term - just keep watching analyst report and 12 month target shares

sorry not familiar with that specific stock...

but this is a learing experience.... Dont buy hyped stocks... look for stocks that are trading cheap relatively... learn to decide what makes a stock cheap.

i dont care if its Cramer or God himself (could cramer tell the difference?) whenever a stock is hyped you have to decide for yourself if its a good investment... That way when its down you will have conviction to hold on and when it goes up you'll have a better undrstanding of when to sell....

Not much financial info available for free on this company but I do see that the number of shares shorted have doubled since the last month, 11.3K to 21.5K. Cannot find any options data. You may as well hold for now, see what happens. It could be another of Cramers dogs.

Why don't you ask Jim Cramer?

1. Nobody can predict the stock market.

2. No matter what you pay for a stock, it will go down after you buy it. This is a given, you have to have the stomach to withstand this.

3. If you sell your stock for less than you paid for it, you will always lose money.

4. If you sell your stock for more than you paid for it, you will always make money.

5. If someone tells you that they can predict what a stock will do, see item #1 above.
