Never use hope and invest in the same sentence. You do the math, if it works (cashflows right now), then go after, if not, leave it. There will always be a good deal that comes along. |

I don't think that Ruby Tuesday is going to have much success. |

Not at the moment, everyone is watching the price of gold (not oil as some would think, oil is paid for in gold) so the markets are in a slump with only a small growth predicted over the next few months. Oil prices effect everything as goods have to be transported everywhere and manufacturing costs increase.
This all effects the disposable income that families have as they are not spending out on luxury at the moment. There has been an expotential growth in food outlets in the last five years and you would be competing against others for a slice of the same pie so to speak. Food is not the thing to go for at the moment as energy costs are rising and legislation about hygiene is getting tighter, this all adds a cost to you. |

I don't think you should invest in anything that you "hope" will be a success. Do some research and look for other ways to invest. |

No, only because the restaurant buisness is one of the hardest and trickiest investments to be involved in. |

I would by even more depressed co.'s, in even more depressed sectors. Think subprime lenders. Some of them are primed for take overs ala countrywide financial recent buyout by bank of america. Plenty more where that came from soon down the pipeline! |

Hope is never a reason to invest.
You have no idea what you are doing and will likely lose money. |

Franco

If you have any reason to believe things will soon change for the better, invest. Otherwise do not.
Also note that other things being equal, it is better not to invest in the company you are working for. Because if they sink, you will lose both your job and your investment. |

Save your money, since you work there, you can tell that things are on a down turn right now. People just don't have the extra cash to spend. |

It's a conflict of interest to put all your eggs in one basket.
As an employee, would you advise anyone else to invest?
What will change; management, menu, clients, food?
Or will they just do more of the same, only try harder.
Are employees happy, customers loyal, sales/profits up? |

This is a bad sector to try and find good companies in right now,, with the average consumer almost out of money due to high energy prices, you need to look for the almost high end restaurants.... i like CAKE at these prices.... you should check out www.thewallstreethunter.com for some good stocks ideas,, they also have a pretty good free market update analysis.....
Good luck.... |

No buy, sell or hold recommendations.
The stock went from a $33/share high in April, '06. It hasn't done anything but go down. In July, '07 it simply tanked.
Today, Monday, January 14, '08, it closed at $5.74/share.
Thanks for asking your Q!
