DO NOT SELL! ! !

Actually you have lost nothing at this point. The Value has gone down, but you will not lose money until you sell. Hang in there for the market to recover.

If you move the money out now then you will take the loss. If you can wait, then let it sit and let the market recover.

No, it's next to impossible to time the markets. If you pull out, they might start to go back up tomorrow, and you're going to be out in the cold. Just ride it out.

No. The key to winning on the financial market is:

BUY LOW, SELL HIGH.

Now, are your stocks at a high? Then you shouldn't sell them. Are your stocks low? You should be buying more. They're cheap right now.

There's nowhere left to go. UP! Stay where you are and your stocks will go up.

If you don't need the money in the next 10 years, leave it there. If you need the money in the next 10 years, it shouldn't have been there in the first place--not safe enough.

Either way though, we're close to the bottom of the curve. Now would probably be the worst time you could think of to get out. Tough it out and cross your fingers.

You haven't lost any money until you sell them.

Just ride it out, it isn't worth ditching massive losses at this stage.

You haven't lost a dime yet unless you sell now.
It will take time for the market to recover, but it will.
Several months ago I transferred a large percentage of my investments from mutual funds to the firms money market funds.
You might try that to prevent further down swings. When the market starts rising again you can easily online transfer the funds back into funds.

My portfolio is up 71% this year and i have made really good money this year. If you want to stop losing money in the stock market you should buy the stocks I buy and sell when I sell. Just follow my lead if you are truly serious about making money in the stock market.

You have not lost anything in a mutual fund UNTIL you sell it at a loss...so if you have not cashed out, you only have a "paper loss" not a real one. This is a very, very, very, very, very bad time to sell. I suggest you stop looking for twelve months, you'll be much happier that way!

At this point nobody knows when the market is going to hit bottom, so I would not advise you to take out your money.

If you do want to get out of mutual funds that may not be a bad idea. A risky strategy would be identify companies you feel will make a turnaround when the economy turns around. This way you will be in on the bottom floor when their stock price starts to soar.

One example of this type of company is Citigroup. I believe that after the current market turns around Citigroup will rebound quickly.
