I would sell. First of all there is the possibility that the government might oppose the take over which would send the stock back down to where it was. Second, if the take over is completed and you hold on then you are stuck with some Microsoft stock. Frankly, I hope the take over does not happen. Microsoft would most likely ruin Yahoo.

I would take some off the table and lock in the big gain from the takeover news on that portion. Take a look at the Fast Money show archives from Friday on CNBC.com-- the traders generally thought that it was intrigueing and would go higher. Its a good show to watch because you see the different points of view. It will be stated online at least or in the video small print if a trader owns the stock he is talking about or not.

It's at an all time low....hopefully the accept.

Well, the price has already gone up $9 of the gain in the offer.

I would take that gain and be happy. The other $2 a share you stand to gain could disappear at any time.

Sell on the news, the price is not much closer than the offering price. If this purchase does not go through you can always buy it back cheaper.
Have a nice day too!

There are some uncertainties about the pending offer. But (in my opinion) the risk/reward ratio favors selling.

The chance for any significant gain in YHOO from this point depends on Microsoft raising their offer. If YHOO rejects the offer, their share price will drop.

If you decide to hold, I would suggest a very tight trailing stop.

I would not sell

I would hold it and watch the market VERY carefully when it opens tomorrow. If you see the price of shares going down the slightest bit, I'd sell because it can drop very quickly if you're not watching.

I would sell. One of the talking heads on TV actually had a good comment on Friday. "If you mate to dogs you don't get a pony." YHOO and MSFT are both dogs. So the best you could do is get another dog.

Because the Justice Department got involved about 20 seconds after the announcement, I have some real doubts the deal will pass anyway.

No my advice would be to hold on to it until you desperately need the money you have in it.
