if it is a winner, let it ride.

will you be losing money at $37? If they are buying back stock, that should cause the price to increase in the long run, so it might be better to hold on and sell it later on the open market

Daniel C
Well... I guess you could go for it but think about it: why would Home Depot be spending their capital to buy back their own stock? Corporations use capital to make more money. Ya think maybe they know something you don't?

kman
depends on how much you bought your stock for

I read somewhere on the Internet that Home Depot was in trouble. I may be wrong and someone please correct me if so.
What are the price of the shares today on the market?
I would take my money if you need it. They may be buying back the stock because I'm right about them being in financial trouble. I think someone is/may buy them out.
Do some research so "you" feel the most comfortable about your decision.
It's your money, not ours.

is there a reason they are buying back, talk to a broker first. are you getting any money worth the effort to sell?

would it be in your best interest to sell? is there stock going down? you need to find the reason first.

If your in it for the long haul hold on to them. This could just be a move to off set market fear on the short term future of new home construction and home improvement (loans). Often when a company offers to buy back their own stock it is simply a way to show the public as well as their share holders that the company still has strong confidence in themselves and that they are not going to disappear anytime soon. It's a heck of a lot better sign than if the CEOs where selling off their interests.

I guess it depends on how much stock you have. The ecomony sucks right now and will most likely get worse. I'd take the money and run. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush!

Supply and demand...a buyback program adds to the demand for your company's shares.
Management, are effectively sending a message about the stock: "it's a good bargain at this price,"

THEY ARE TRYING TO BOOST THE STOCK PRICE!!!!
