Simon 1 | Should I sell my Northern Rock Shares now ? |
|
|

The Virgin group is currently the 'preferred bidder' for Northern Rock, with plans to repay half the debt to taxpayer immediately and the remainder within a couple of years, and plans to stabilise the concern by raising income from depositers rather than the market. The prospects seem rather better with this news, and suggests that share prices will eventually improve with performance. It also suggests to me that now is not the right time to sell, since it will entail a loss that could be recovered or at least mitigated as Virgin Money begins to turn Northern Rock's fortunes around. |

No. The trick to investing is
Buy low - sell high.
The reason why people like me make money is because people sell when the price goes down, and buy when it's going up. It's fundamentally a sound business. Hang on in there |

As you have waited this long through all the trouble and turmoil, why sell out now? Keep them and wait and see what happens. I don't expect Virgin to wave a magic wand (assuming that their talks with Northern Rock and the Government succeed) but at least you now have a fighting chance of possibly, just possibly recovering some of your losses.
Fingers crossed.

No way !!
Someone is going to buy them out, so they will pay more than the current market price...wait for the takeover offer to come along...shouldnt be too far away |

The price is too low. I would say wait if you can afford to. IMO |

I'd sell them and put something into more value---put the money into gold or silver, as the rights are growing higher daily and gold and silver back themselves up. |
