I live here. I would advise waiting. The Army Corp of Engineers and FEMA have still not yet released the flood plain information that will tell home owners whether they need to elevate their homes. You could buy something, then end up spending several thousand dollars raising the house before you can insure it. Do lots of research, come down here and take a serious look around, then make your decision. |

Certainly thre is money to be made. However, investing in News Orleans realty is extraordinarily risky at this time. Buy lottery tickets instead . . .your chances of ending up with at least 50% of your money left is MUCH higher. |
