Oui Oui | Shouldn't Pfizer be the $400 stock and not Google? Pfizer sells actual products whereas Google sells what? |

The per-share price of a stock is a very misleading way to compare these two companies. Pfizer has 7.3 billion shares outstanding. Google has only 303 million shares outstanding. Google has a market cap of 128 billion, and Pfizer has a market cap of 174 billion. This means that at today's prices, Pfizer is worth about 40% more than Google.
The price of a single share of stock is irrelevant unless you know what percentage of the company that share represents. Berkshire Hathaway sells for $90,000 per share, but the company is still worth less than Pfizer.
Having said all that, I do agree that Google is overvalued, and Pfizer is priced at a pretty reasonable level. No one has a clue what Google is going to earn next quarter let alone 5 years out, and yet the stock is priced like 30% growth is certain for the next five years. |

Pfizer is considered a slow or perhaps no growth company. In other words what you see is what you get. Besides that there is always the chance that one or more of their drugs might cause law suits.
Google on the other hand is viewed as a high growth company, able to perhaps grown at 20% annually for the next 5 years. People are discounting the future in the stock price. |

And who would determine "what should be"? Every day, "Mr. (stock) Market" determines "what is", the value now. Both stocks exist in an auction market where stocks find their own equilibrium.
If you want to pay $400 for Pfizer's stock, you will quickly be accomodated (I advise against it because others are buying at less than $25.) |

Its all in the advertising. That is where Google makes the money. Duh. |

google actually "sells" space on its site that advertises
ppl pay google a ton of money to put advertisements up because google is so popular
the more popular the site the more viewers, the more viewers, the more business or clicks a site might get from advertising there |

Pfizer sells tangibles and Google sells intangibles. Share prices are determined by amount of consumption from use of a product.
-Keep in mind, Pfizer's R&D is probably through the roof.
-Their marketing is mainly print, tv, etc.. - Expensive
-Their employee count is high, approx 115,000 compared to Google's approx. 5680.
But Google's annual estimated sales are$6,138,560,000 compared to Pfizer's estimated annual sales of $52,516,000,000.
Google is just controlling their shares and the amount issued. |

advertising, all the sponsored web sites that come up during searches, they have a ton of them and Google is extremely low cost to operate where Pfizer spends billions to make billions. |
