Solar companies are long-term bets that will need tax incentives to be profitable. Oil companies (BP and ExxonMobil) consistently make profits; WalMart and Target are good in the retail sector. Rule of thumb: don't invest in a business you don't understand and can't explain to someone else. You should know what a company does to make money, how experienced its management is, etc--they're using YOUR money. Look around to what products you're using and invest in those companies....what kind of toothpaste do you use? What shoes do you wear? Use those answers to find companies you want to invest in---you'll be part owner, so they should be products you want to own. |

I dont agree with the first person....foods are a necessity for people..which is true but the stock wont get nay higher if the sales dont get any higher, I agree with the last one, solar energy is a long term investment. Look for companies that have came near to bankruptcy but already have had their bear trend line and are showing bullish activity. Can't give u any hidden gems tho...srry!!
Hope this helps! |

No this recession will be with us awhile. Stick with companies that offers people must buy items. WalMart, Kelloggs, General Mills, Kraft
People buy food no matter how bad the economy gets. |

I suggest AIG, FRE, FNM, C and IAR
They have nowhere to go but up. |

You might want to start with ETFs that target a sector rather than trying to pick individual stocks. |

solar stocks are all in downtrends
we are in a period like the 70's
not a good time to be in stocks
forget about stocks
stocks are not cheap
where did you get this idea from
you cannot buy stocks cheap
when interest rates are so low |
