Chico | Something you won't tell me? |
Hi. I know that many people want to keep their investment secrets... secret. I aim to dig deep to find out eventually what these lesser known facts are in life. For those that are doing reasonably well for themselves now:
Is there any one principle for success that you have discovered? It would just be good to know. You don't have to tell me what it is, obviously. |

The only way you can make a mistake is if you try. The only way you can fail is if you never make the attempt.
Investing takes time and knowledge but that doesn't mean you can't start today. It might be in a GIC or Bond (something that's not too interesting but it's safe), in mutual funds (a reasonably good way to start) or directly into stocks (very high risk for people with limited investing knowledge).
Determine how much money you want to start with, figure out what your risk tolerance is, how long your willing to get in for and the sort of investments that will accommodate these three factors. Then get in and learn more as you go along.
Set objectives on where you would realistically like to be at the end of each year as far as how much you intend to invest and the amount of return you hope to realize. A trick here is to "Pay yourself first" by making a point of investing a set amount each month. Treat it like rent or any other bill that cannot be missed. AND above all, stick to your guns and don't try to second guess yourself. Don't bounce in and out of investments. It's a great way to lose control of your investment and money. If you do your research, you'll find many opportunities that will help you reach your goals. |

Watch the top 10 movers on the American stock markets, use a level 2 brokerage account to trade rising stocks after the market settles down 1`/2 hour after market open 10am to 10.15am.
The stock should have high volume of 1 million shares or more and be rising on Good news, if the stock drops 1 or 2 % sell or use a stop loss.
You have to be there all day watching on the internet. Don't use more than 1/5th of your account on any one single trade, practice with paper trading for months before you try it for real and read books, go on free training courses for Day trading.
I have made +10% to 250% gains in a few hours. |

First of all pay off your debts. Then invest 1 third in an equity fund, 1 third in a commercial property fund and 1 third in a bank or building society savings account. Make use of your ISA allowances to minimise tax. If you have a mortgage adjust the above to ensure that you pay off your mortgage as quickly as possible. |
