I think it is. If you try to time the bottom then you will miss out completely. To be safe, I bought Cigarette Maker MO at $20 a share. It dropped down to $15 a share and I bought more. The dividend is huge at 7.5% and I can't think of another product that has their consumers not only addicted, but use more of when the economy is bad.
I just buy and buy MO. Since the dollar might crash, I also bought PM, which is a spinoff of MO and operates outside of the US. It also has a 5%+ dividend so if the dollar does crash, I can make a lot on this. |

If you are a short term trader, then you should invest in Forex or commodities due to their high volatility. If you're more of a long term trader, then consider mutual funds, retirement funds or even bonds. The advantage of bonds is that they can be sold easily. |

I would say it is not a bad time. Mainly if you know a company which is secure, paying god dividend. But at the moment, invest only money which you definitely don't need for a long time! |

In USA it's a good time to get in if a company releases a good 2008 report and/or 2009 forecast to the market otherwise wait.
So far the recent winners have been:
Google (GOOG), Apple (AAPL) and IBM
IBM looks the best. It's rising dividends and share price, 2004-2008 financial statements and 2009 forecast are all positive. |

Absolutely. If you are planning LONG TERM. Best to Diversify, get mutual funds. RIght now they are cheap. It will rebound. The question is when? So it will and if you plan long term, diversify right now is a good time to Buy Low. I recommend a Vanguard mutual fund to start with. As far as individual stocks i think its always too risky. But thats my personal opinion |
