How would you describe the mood on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange on Black Tuesday? Additional Details A bit of clarification. Yes, this is for homework. No, I do not want someone to "answer it for me." What I want are some ideas to help me develop a rounded answer. It's just like looking online for an article on Black Tuesday. Same concept, so please don't reply unless you want to give a quality answer.
Utter disbelief, confusion, a sick feeling like it was the end of the world.

The mood was fearful because these men made money by paper investments. They knew it was not based on goods or real estate. It is like that today and billions of dollars can evaporate over night when stock values drop . No one has stolen anything. Today Enron did steal by borrowing on nothing and they expected to get away with it. Back in 1929 investment was all a paper value and not goods and real estate. When the dam broke and stock values fell... loans were called in. Money was gone and workers sent home. The supply was affected days later when jobs were lost... prices of goods and real estate inflated when everyone was idle at home. Some people profited, but others did not. Farmers and workers did not get paid when the economy stopped working. Unevenness of prosperity made recovery difficult. Over-investing had caused the system to continue to fail because it was unsecured borrowed money on top of unemployment.
