There is a strong inflow of Dollar in India.

weakening of dollar is absorbed all over the world. the dollar got cheaper in last 6 months from 46 to 39.82

this may continue to a certain extent of time.

you can switch the income to Euro which is seen to be not so much affected

Rupee Appreciation is seen to continue as long as FII flows into indian Stock market. So wait for a market conreection which will resul;t in net FII outflow. you can convert your US dollar at that point of time.

The rupee will appreciate further. If you cling to your dollar thinking the old days will come back the chances are you will lose more. You can invest in real estate in India or stock market. That will give you a better yeild than investing in saturated economies. Or you can wait till the time dollar becomes stronger which is unlikely and loose other opportunities.

what canu do. nothing at all. you have to face this problem of market money movements ( ups and down ) the only way to protect your income is to increase your rates in us dollars ( if possible ) I am sure there is nothing else . The dollar might even move down rs 39 per rupee very soon. what will u do then ??????

Its difficult to answer with the info provided. However, you can explore these possibilities
1. You can convert the dollar into Rupee account as it is widely perceived that Rupee will continue to appreciate in the short and middle range of period.
2. Convert into any other strong currencies like Euro or GBP if legally permitted

Don' panic a good investor should be calm ,things may be different a few months from now.

In the past government used to intervene to control rupee. However, there are many advantages to rupee appreciation and hence the intervention isnt there anymore. Take a look at DD's article.

I personally feel that the days of 40's is long gone and that rupee will continue to appreciate.
How to protect yourself? Well, that is a million dollar question for which there is no real answer. If you are having income on monthly basis in Dollars, then you have no way out but to take whatever conversion you get. No point in investing in US markets either. You may want to invest in US based BRIC ADR's or find mutual funds that invest in Euro-Asia region and invest in dollars.

Good luck

There is nothing thatyou can do atthis stage. You wait for sometime .It comes back to the original level. The value of rupee in terms of dollar always keeps on fluctuating.Appreciation of rupee is good for the economy.
