Balding HD Rider | VISA’s IPO? |
I read the front page of the San Francisco Chronicle about Visa going public and doing an IPO. I am really happy to hear about this. I read that the $19 billion will go to the financial institutions that support Visa. I was curious how many shares I will get from the IPO? I have been a financial institution for Visa for over 2 years. I have approximately $23k in credit card debt with my two Visa cards that I carry. Will they allocate my portion of the $19 billion to pay down some of this balance or just increase my credit limit? This could come in really handy since there are some new Ethan Allen drapes I would like to get. Or it might help because I am currently two months behind on my card and I could do a cash advance to pay this month’s bill. (I can’t do it right now since I am at my limit.)
Anyone know when the IPO is scheduled and when I can expect my share? Will this show up on my monthly bill or be mailed separately?

I was hoping the same thing. My 3 VISA cards are totally maxed out. I've got my eye on that new Corvette, but my credit is so bad right now, I can't qualify for the loan. But if VISA pays off part of my credit card debt, and I get my $300 rebate check from the Fed, I should be able to make payments on the Corvette for the next 6 months. This should be enough to hold me over until the price of my house goes up again and I can tap the equity to pay the Corvette off outright!!! I'm so excited. Go VISA!!! |

Your question doesn't make any sense at ALL!
You don't get any shares, and it has nothing to do with how much money you currently owe them. You will have to pay them back those money no matter what.
Why would they use the money the raised in the IPO to pay your debt? Or increase your credit limit?
This has to be a joke. |

Your are a customer (A person without money)
You are not a Financial Institution (A bank with money)
I suggest you to reduce your debt to $0.00 USD and then save up to $23,000.00 USD and then buy a few Visa shares and then you will make money everytime somebody uses his Visa.
It's not exactly rocket science. |
