First pay off any outstanding debt if you have any.
Then invest in a mutual fund. The type of fund you invest in depends on your goals and time frame. If you know you won't need the money for at least five years, you can put most or all of it in a stock fund. If you will need the money sooner, you should be more conservative. Make sure to choose a fund with a low expense ratio (no higher than 1%) and no load. If you want to learn more about mutual funds, I recommend the book "Mutual Funds for Dummies." Check your local library.
If your employer offers a matching 401(k) plan, try to contribute as much as you can to that. Otherwise, you are turning down free money. |

Without having more information about your personal information, such as age, current income and other data such as risk tolerance, martial status, and demographics it would be very inappropriate for me or any other person to provide specific information in this type of media
There are thousands of people just like you that are, or were looking to invest and those that did buy Mutual Funds. One purpose of mutual funds is to help investors like you, who are either just entering the investment world or who have no investing experience.
Mutual Fund companies have an entire array of products many will fit your needs.
You can go to the MSN.Money website it has an entire section on mutual funds. Read about the various funds and in doing so you will be getting investment ideas and at the same time educating yourself about investing.
You could also contact the funds companies for more information. I have found that Vanguard & Fidelity can meet your needs. The service and information they provide is all free and you will find it helpful. And remember, keeping you money in a bank or bank product is not investing. |

I personally think DRIP Plans are one of the best investment vehicles available. I have had mine for over 22 years and my average annual return is 10.4%. Pretty solid.
Check them out. |

We all a get rich quick scheme, but legally there are none. BUY, do not rent if you can. Do your own research, find people you trust and ask them. Real estate will always do well, remember, location, location, location.....think ahead, not for just todayThose seniors that bought land and trailers in a park on the coast of Florida 25+ years ago are considering selling for a million each. What is tommorows investing opportunities? Research, listen to the news, what are people interested in, what are they buying...... |

This depends on how much personal effort you want to put into it. You could always see a Financial Adviser and they will create a plan for you, or you could do it yourself. If you are just starting out, I would recommend going with a safe route first and investing in either mutual funds or exchange traded funds. These require the least amount of participation on your part.
Also, if your employer offers a matching 401k plan then by all means contribute the maximum you can every year. This is one of the best ways to grow your retirement nest egg. Once your wealth and savings begin to grow, look at getting into other areas of finance such as the stock market, or even bonds.
Good luck... its all up to your personal risk/reward assessment. |

I think it is a mistake that many people make by not being at least somewhat aggressive.
These are my recent moves. Managed Forex Account.
and TRAMX, mutual fund based on Middle East and Africa.
These are agressive picks I would not put all my money in these, but you need some exposure to these types of investments.
Look at this link for the Forex account.
http://www.fxcm.com/managed-accounts/SystemPerformance?id=110
I am an introducing broker for the Forex account and can help with questions and account set up.
