Well despite this being an age where one is being deluged by information all the time,is it really of ANYHELP?

It depends upon what kind of help one seeks.

I had a friend who was using a drug that was giving him side effects - and luckily, I found a website which showed all the symptoms and I was able to help him.
If it weren't for that website, I would never have known what was going on with him.

I'm a researcher - doing my genealogy - roots - and I have gathered lots of information from the websites, as well as I have met a few relatives along the way. Without this internet, I would not have a lot of the information that I do today.

Sometimes it is a bit overwhelming because there is so much online - and sometimes the information is conflicting, but I would not want to ever have to do without the computer.

I'm glad to have so much information at my fingertips.

Curiosity already killed the cat. I'm very curious. I even gave curious as a word to describe me at an interview.

it all depends on what you do with the infromation do you take it to heart or let it go by the wayside

In the past you were also 'deluged' with information, but now you can easily check it out as fact or fiction instead of taking it as gospel.

Well, one's ability to discern and sort through useless information is definitely more important today than several years ago simply because we are presented with so much more useless crap.

Only if you have a curious personality. I think it's great being able to learn more things faster and easier, but I like learning and have always been curious.

it depends on what information you spend your time gathering. there's a lot of very useful info at our fingertips, we can find things out faster and more easily than anyone ever before. but there's also a whole lot of useless and even damaging info floating around, often disguised as useful stuff.
also, pure information is useless. you also have to make sure you're taking the time to understand and assimilate, rather than just glancing things over or quoting stuff you read without thinking about it.
I think if there's one way mass media is damaging us is that getting information HAS become too easy, so few people really appreciate it, and because so much is thrown at us so constantly, a lot of people have stopped chewing before they swallow, so to speak.

I'm not really sure, I just answered some girls question about a possible miscarriage and she had an absolute fit on me and reported me as abuse. The truth hurts sometimes and yet one still should be prepared to hear it whenever they ask a question. Best wishes

Since this question is in the "Investing" category, I'll assume that it pertains to investing.

The answer is...it depends. There is a theory that the markets are efficient, meaning that new information is digested and reflected in, for example, a stock price the moment it becomes availble. Under that theory, new information is not helpful because the stock price will already reflect that information by the time you read it.

On the other hand, for general investment advice, strategic long-term plans and other such things, information can be extremely helpful. You can see a variety of viewpoints and approaches, then decide on which fits your particular financial situation. Hope that helps.
