Honestly it is upto you. I like E-trade the most. They are very helpful if you have issues with you site and/or account. I have been with E-Trade since its infancy and so far not too many issues to bicker about. Now you cant blame E-trade if you take risks and lose money. They also have awesome resources to study and see histories. |

I've been with ETrade for 10 years. They have a lot of experience and have used it to make their site more user friendly. Also, they offer a wide variety of financial services, not just brokerage. It's convenient to be able to manage your money in one place. |

Dulute and Tush..... Charles Shwab..... very well known and easy to get started with... and once you really get a feel for it and see what works for you they are easy to work with when you feel more confident in choosing your own stocks and things. |

All the previous ones are good answers, but the reality is that the choice depends on what you want out of it. Do you want to trade equities (stocks), bonds, mutual funds, commodities, futures, options? And, perhaps more importantly, how much money do you have. For investors with more money, Schwab and Fidelity (and others) will provide a high level of service and much better research tools. For less money, Etrade and ameritrade are great options (unless you want to trade options, then try optionsexpress). |

Check out Netstock their website is: www.sharebuilder.com. They offer many investment options and you can invest small dollar amounts weekly, monthly or however often you want for as little as $4.00 a trade (CHEAP!) even if you can't afford a sinlge share. Both of my kids have Roth IRAs through Sharebuilder and I play around with a few stocks of my own with them as well. GREAT SOLUTION for beginners who want to buy and sell their stock but have minimal start up capital. |

When you get bored of trading Equities, learn how to trade binary options. Much lower fees than trading equities too. |

Sharebuilder is good and economical. Not a huge amount of guidance, but good if you don't mind doing some research on your own. |

Scottrade. Low cost, low minimums (you can start with $500). Six-time JD Power and Assoc winner.

If you don't have a lots of money use sharebuilder.com but they make trades at the end of the day and only 4 time a month, unless it's a tral time trade. I don't have much funds but if I did I would use E-trade. |

Don't trust online brokers. You don't know whether or not they are actually frauds. Besides, even with all of these so-called "secure server" websites, you don't know if that website really runs on a "secure server", or if it is really run by hackers who are duping you. |

I've had an account with E*trade for many years and I'm happy with them. They have a good website, good customer service, easy to read statements, excellent selection of no transaction fee mutual funds, and competitive trading fees for stocks. |

I highly recommend Ameritrade. I've been using them for many years and have had no problems. Trades always execute very promptly. They also have research tools you can use to do your own stock screening. |

Ameritrade is an easy to use website, I've never had a problem with it being down, their prices are not the lowest, but they are not the highest either. Their phone support is very good, too. |

I would like to suggest Scottrade. They have good online resources and you might be close to a walk in office. One other thought. Consider using Morningstar.com as your research and learning vehicle. Then use Scottrade as your trading platform. A easy read book is the "Coffee House Investor". He likes index funds for the long haul because of low expenses, a very important consideration.
Best luck to U... |

I've been with TDWaterhouse for years and have been very happy with their service, ease of use of website, research, rates, etc. Of course, they have just become TDAmeritrade, but I am hoping that any changes will be for the better. I have no intention of changing brokers any time soon. |

I am an investment manager, T D Waterhouse and Ameritrade are merging. this would be a good choice. I would open an account at TD and see what kind of incentives you will get to stick with them afer they merge the two companies. |
