Hello,

I also had a similair problem as you have.
I had a good amount of money, and wanted it to grow.
So I looked around on the internet to find something that is:
1) giving me great returns towards a relatively small risk

2) Professional people who know what they where doing with my money.

I'm glad to say I finally found a moneymanager who is capable of giving me good returns and give me a great support.
On this blog you can follow up all the results that he is making:
http://my-robottrader.blogspot.com/

My money is working for me, in three months time I already have a ROI of 80%.
So you don't hear me complaining!
Annyway if you would like to get in touch with my moneymanager to have some more information feel free to contact me you can send an email to me at derrekmay at gmail.com.
Then I'll give you the email adress of my moneymanager

Hope this has helped you!

INvest in ETF: ETFs are cheaper than mutual funds. ETFs have very low annual expenses, nearly 20 basis points or 0.2% less. As against this, actively managed mutual funds show average expenses exceeding 135 basis points (1.35%). This does not include the extra 2% - 5% as loads, 12(b)-1 marketing fees, transactions costs, and soft dollar expenses mutual funds, passed on to you but never informed, except in very fine print that nobody cares to read.

1) Debt repayment.
(Credit cards, car notes, student loans, etc.)
Preventing a debt from growing is the same as making interest on your money.
But the rates are higher, and there's no risk involved.

2) If you're debt-free, then the answer depends on how long you intend to keep the money invested.

Less than 5 years: Money Market
More than 7 years: Stocks.

If you invested in the stock market in March 2001, the Dow Jones is up an average of 2.5%/yr, and the Nasdaq is up 7%/yr, despite TWO big drops, the one we have now, and the one we had after September 11.

I just inherited $40,000 on Monday. And I invested in Blue Chip Stocks within my DRIP Plan. I was not comfortable with any other investment.

DRIPs are seldom recommended by brokers due to the low rate of commissions received. However, these
reinvestment plans can be very powerful long-term investments. Studies have shown that DRIP's are one of
the best strategies on Wall Street.

They are inexpensive and easy to start. New investors to the stock market should definitely consider a DRIP Plan.

Companies like Toyota, Royal Canadian Bank, Sony, Bank of America, General Electric and many other Blue Chip
Stocks can be purchased through your DRIP Plan, with as little as 1 share in most cases.

These long-term plans are great for beginners as well as veterans. Check them out.

Best of Luck

Diversify your investment.
Say 40% Good stocks, real estate, 10% Comodity exchange such as Oil, Gold etc, or buying Gold, in a Fixed deposit in a federally gurentied banks....... (in this volatile situation if banks collapse u wont get any money, except in Govt guarantied banks), Pension funds, House loan account (may get good returns) or simply diversifying this money into different currencies. You can even buy a farm land!!!!! US Federal bonds now are high risk, instead I would suggest to invest in EU bonds or in stocks/ commodity markets/ real estate Middle eastern countries.

For all investments you should lower the risks. That you do in not just investing all money at one place/ one country/ one thing etc.
When market is collapsing.....stocks, currency markets & real estate become risky people go for commodity markets such as Gold (No need of buying Gold, just as commodity stock) or OIL STOCKS etc. But now Gold prices are so high its too late. I therefore suggest Oil commodity markets.

Stock. Its a semi-long term investment, but should double in value in 5 years or so....Only a good idea if you have the patience/knowledge to make the right decisions.
