$45,000 Well, there is so many answers to this question and i agree with some of the other in the sense that you should deversify. But to make it simple i think that you should invest at least 30% in Gold. I would also look into possible real estate investments in India. There are also good real estate opportunities in the US but with the recession we will have in 2008 and the dollar value crashing as well, i would wait to invest here. Whatever you do, dont invest in US stock market right now or just let the money sit in a savings account. Of course the first thing you would want to do is payoff all revolving debt. There is no sense being involved in creative investing if you are still paying monthly credit card bills. This opinion is certainly no secret, but this is what im personally doing with my money. Good Luck |

Anyone that would give you advice based on this limited infomation is not with the time to consider.
First, are we talking about $45,000 or $4,500,000?
Second,a re we talking about U.S. dollars?
Third, how old are you and, if married, your wife?
Fourth, what other assets do you have?
Fifth, what is your debt situation?
Sixth, do we need to consider future education costs?
The best thing is to sit down with someone who knows that he is doing. Ther is too much at risk on betting on advice from anyone who doesn't know you, your personality and your goals.
I hope that this helps. |

its going to depend. What is your willingness to accept risk? What is your expected timeframe?
Generally, the riskier the investment, the more you can make...also the more you can loose.
Ultimately, all personal investments should be either perceived as short term or long term. Any short term in vestment should be liquid enough that you can get your money when you need it. However, this is going to probably have a lower rate of return. Many people use money markets for this purpose. Long term investing should be another consideration. Long term investments are less liquid and will offer returns that vary according to your risk profile.
One way or another you would probably end up having to consult an investment advisor so ask them. Find one you trust. Have someone you know recommend someone. |

The question is too vague - "best" depends on your situation. |

if that in dollars, you shouldn't ask people in Yahoo. put the money in the bank and go on Vacation, but if that in rupiahs forget it... |

45 million? property in India, England & Dubai... & water provision / sanitation in India - that would do *extremely* well over the next 10 years.
Edit:
Tee, you're either thick... or just mistaken.
Do you want to clarify your question?
If you're TRYING to write $45,000 - then write it that way without trying to be cool and ending up looking stupid, or write it: $45k
If you're trying to write $45m, then WRITE $45m... or $45,000,000
If you want to be rich you need to be financially literate.
