GM is a huge gamble. I wish I had bought Chrysler at $3 when they were being bailed out. When they repaid the government a few years later, the price was over $30. That's 10 times!
The point is that GM is in an unsustainable position. It is going to go way up, or going to go bust. Maybe do this with some fun money that you can afford to lose.
Note: this is not a "short term" trade. |

You need to have the knowledge and the skill to avoid obscene losses. And then you might make obscene profits some day.
Anybody can luck out and make a lot of money from one or two trades. But if it's just luck. Then sooner or later you will loose more than you gain. Because no one is lucky in the long term. The luck evens out for everyone. And you need more than just luck to succeed. |

Been there done it. Bought (NOT an obscene about though....not my style), and then sold!! It went back down again today... Ready to buy again, very very soon!
This is always a gamble, and it sounds to me like this person is doing just that....gambling, just as I did this past month. Went way down, and doubled. That is what you want to look for....whether it's short or long!

Advice on buying short term stock?
Don't do it. The market is extremely volitile right now and is based more on emotion than fundementals, so it's immpossible to get in and get out with any kind of strategy, without a TON of luck.
You're best bet is to invest in something with the goal of a long term buy and hold. If it shoots up in the next little while, take some of the money and run. GM would be a good buy and hold, but there's no gaurantee that it will be good in the short term. GM is big enough that it won't just disappear. It will get bailed out or it will be bought out, either way it should affect the stocks in a positive manor in some way, shape or form. |

My advise is do NOT do it in the current market.
Placing your money in a mutual fund with a strong 10 year record is what you should be doing in this market. |
