Investments include bank deposits, insurance ( though it's not exactly an investment), real estate, shares (equitites), government papers (NSCs etc).

If you have allocated sufficient money to all the investment avenues (except shares), then in the long term for good appreciation in value, invest your money in shares of top class companies. Don't go by market views, rumours and tips. Read yourself, study the financials and invest in companies with good financial trackrecord. Keep a small portfolio of stocks/shares i.e. do not invest in several companies in small quantities. Invest in small number of companies in large quantity.

If you need basic information please visit www.askniting.com and feel free to ask for more info.

Tough question... I can't see Gold going up forever... & Oil Stocks are DANGEROUSLY overpriced too... Interest rates on Saving Accounts are falling (& will continue to do so- as long the Fed keeps lowering the Prime)... THAT leaves CD's... -and THOSE rates are slipping, too! Check out Government Bonds... At the VERY least, what you get BACK over time- should be at "par" with what you put IN (& you won't have to worry about the Bank going "Belly Up" somewhere along the way!). :0

Pick up the Healthcare, FMCG and media stocks. Stay away from real estate and telecom sector thats going to see a lot of bad news this year, with decreasing sales in reality and decreasing margins in telecom.

Take the Blue chip stocks and await . They are down by 50% and am sure by this year end they will be atleast giving that much back.
By the way you can go to www.moneycontrol.com and see message boards. This is free site of CNBC.

May Derrek
Hello,

I also had a similair problem as you have.
I had a good amount of money, and wanted it to grow.
So I looked around on the internet to find something that is:
1) giving me great returns towards a relatively small risk

2) Professional people who know what they where doing with my money.

I'm glad to say I finally found a moneymanager who is capable of giving me good returns and give me a great support.
On this blog you can follow up all the results that he is making:
http://my-robottrader.blogspot.com/

My money is working for me, in three months time I already have a ROI of 76%.
So you don't hear me complaining!
Annyway if you would like to get in touch with my moneymanager to have some more information feel free to contact me you can send an email to me at derrekmay at gmail.com.
Then I'll give you the email adress of my moneymanager

Hope this has helped you!

On every crash in the market u can purchase blue chip stocks and hold on to them. Although this is not the best strategy, this is the only strategy that can be followed now as we do not exactly know whether we do have some downside in the market or not.
