Any of the "blue chip" stocks of course. Any broker can advise you on several hundred specific stocks which fall into the blue chip category. The reason they are called blue chips are that they are solid long term investments. Blue chips are slow growing but steady and are the least risky type of stock and as a result also return the least gains over time compared to more risky investments. Generally the higher the rate of return, the riskier the investment. |

These days there is no such thing as a long term stock. Look at what is happening to all stocks. But, if you buy a company that has always made a profit and expects to make a profit in future years assuming they have a product that is still in demand, that could be a good investment.
