Those that are ready to go up. And I am not joking.
Many people invest in stocks they think "won't lose any money." Well, that's okay. But most of them won't make you any money either. Reward comes with risk. So look for the stocks that are out of favor right now, the ones that are near their 52-week lows. Then screen those stocks for the ones that appear to be ready to rebound. Not an easy job, but nothing worth doing is ever easy. Choose at least 3 stocks and put part of your money into each. Six stocks would be better, but you may have to start small and work up. Take any reasonable profit quickly and use that money to buy something else that is still waiting to go up. Decide how much profit is reasonable and then sell at that price. Don't be greedy. Making a few bucks on a lot of stocks in a short time is better than making more money on just one stock because you are spreading the risk.
There's a lot more to teach you, but remember: You'll never go broke by taking small profits quickly. You may go broke waiting for large profits over a long time.
Addendum: I won't recommend any stocks on a public forum. But I always have some favorites that I like well enuogh to own. Because I am a "short-term trader" (not a day-trader although I trade everyday), I always hope for quick profits, but I am willing and financially able to wait it out if I make a bad buy. |

At the moment I like solar (try ESLR, LDK, WFR...)
I also like a company called Anika (ANIK) that is about to release a new wonder gunk that has a number of useful applications in plastic surgery and is selling for a very reasonable price.
The Men's Warehouse (MW) took a beating today and I suspect it's at an attractive long term entry point.
A company called Senomyx (SNMX) that's been heavily beaten down lately. Its risky, but iy may have great long term prospects.
Garmin (GRMN) will probably pop a bit higher in the coming months IMHO.
Full disclosure: I own a stake in all of these companies but MW. |

Anything in the sectors of energy, healthcare, and insurance. They regularly have solid returns in these sectors. Investing in mutual funds would get you into numerous companies without the guesswork. |

I like Terex (TEX) here. You might want to consider some European stocks that you can buy here as ADRs or on the OTC, such as TOT, E, PHG, or BASFY. Generally the dividends are much higher in Europe, though they only pay once or twice per year. |
