When scary times happen it means that you can buy more companies at lower prices. The best idea is to pick companies that bring in a lot of cash flows. Great cash flows are important so that they can survive any other bad times and they can grow faster. They are also less riskier.
You can put your money in a high yielding account but where did they go? With the fed cutting interest rates, my accounts went from 5.22% to 4.40%.
So I am investing with companies that have great cash flows, are industry leaders, and have great dividends.
I like PFE, BAC, AEO, WFC, WMT. I own the first 3 of these stocks. I LOVE BAC because they are a top company beat down by the mortgage crisis. Think they won't make it out of this mess? I bought in at $40 and I get a 6.40% dividend just for holding on the stock. |

Before you invest in any stocks in any stock market it is important that you understand the risks that are associated with investments.
You should never take market advice from anyone who is not a registered representative with a reputable firm, and even once you find that person you will want to make sure that you do your own research on any investment advice that you are given.
Some options for you are to visit stock market 'talk' boards such as http://www.fingad.com and see what others are investing in and how they make a decision to invest.
Another way for you to become more familiar with investments is to read newspapers such as the Wall Street Journal or Investors Business Daily.
Don't jump into any stock market trades until you fully understand the longer term ramifications of what you are doing!
Good luck and happy investing! |

If you are not sure which stock, you should probably not a buy a stock, but rather a mutual fund or index etf that gives you diversification. |

Buy gold (GLD) or silver (SLV). They have been making on average about 1% per week since mid-2000. My savings account pays about 1% per year so this is a great deal. |
