Try:
AAPL --Apple Computer. The stock has dropped in the last few days after the company announced that its cutting prices on the iphone. Probably a short term drop. Strong product sales should drive the share price upwards in the near future.
ANIK --Anika Therapeautics. Just introducing a sort of a wonder gunk that cures wrinkles, removes scars, etc. Should cause the company's earnings to perk up nicely in the near future.
SNMX--Senomyx. Makes compounds that reduce the amount of certain ingredients (sugar, MSG) that food companies use in their products. Has development contracts with Coke, Nestle, Kraft and several other very large companies. Nestle is just starting to introduce products that use SNMX's compounds.
PMTI--Palomar Medical. Makes lasers used in cosmetic surgery. Growing very rapidly and selling at a very reasonable price. If it's next quarter is good I think this one could jump significantly.
DNA--Genentech. The mother of all biotechs. Inexpensive and probably about due for a bounce.
Try looking into these five companies to get an idea of what they do, what they cost, etc. |

I've made $17,485 YTD date playing options on PCU in my paper money account. In my actual account I made a 73% return owning it from $87 to 111.00 when I got stopped out. I made $13,000 playing a PUT option on the diamonds/DIA in that last dip. My brother did very well owning ESI and got stopped out at 112.00 I'm holding a 17.99% return on SGR in my paper money account and it has steadilly been going up. This week alone I've made a 15% return on a bull spread on SIRI. I've also done very well with FTO, BTM and CTB. They aren't so high priced. Of course PCP (Precision Cast Parts Corp.) and POT (Potash Corp. SASK Inc.) are allways a good investment. These should be considered simulated trades and in no manor should be taken as a buy, hold or sell recomendation in real life. Careful not to brag in the hall ways that your making money off of POT or the police will show up in your home room. |

If i had a thousand to invest in the stock market I would invest in WALMART (WMT), (JNJ) Johnson and Johnson and (DE) John Deere. I did a similar project in high school I just invested in stuff that I liked. If you like electronic maybe radio shack, or books maybe barnes and noble or border. For further assistance i recommend going to money.com and there is a list of the Dow 30. Dow 30 are all blue chip stocks. Hopefully this will help you get started. You should try to pick stocks for long term not short. |
