What are the best short term stock to buy right now?
I want some surefire stocks that are going to go up in a few months. Give me what you got and tell me why you're buying it.
Additional Details
I don't need a tutorial on trading and stocks, I just need some short term plays, despite the current downward trend of the economy.

You should develop your own system for trading. That way you don't have to take advice from people on yahoo answers.

Once you create your own system you can make consistent profit.

This is a great website that will teach you the basics on how to trade.

There is no such things as surefire stock especially when it is short term. I can only say that for long term yes there is a surefire stock such as index etf, historically over 20 years they are definitely go up.

For short term trading stock goes up and down and it is dangerous to time them especially if you do not know what you are doing

I am going with Vonage right now, its way under its potential. Also stocks like sun microsystems and even yahoo because of potential microsoft bid

wiseghy
I'm afraid my personal experience with Vonage was horrible, so I would have to urge you to shy away from that one. My impression was that there is a serious flaw with their basic technology that leaves them permanentely unreliable. If anything, you may want to short them.

Overall, however, the market is dominated by herd animals. I would look hard at Apple, Google and other stocks that have been hit hard in recent days.

I Own some Ptsc... Do your due diligence... this stock will be up to 70cents within a month -3.. Ive been trading this stock for 2years... And its about as low as its going to go..

thewallstreethunter
There is no such thing as sure fire, anyone who tells you different is lying to you. But...... if you believe what is going on in the economy is a rough time, what with down housing and down subprime stocks, then the safe play is what are called defensive stocks, which are typically in the consumer non-cyclical sector or in the consumer staple sector.. Names like jnj and Ko and Mo are at the top on my list.. They sell products that people need no matter what is going on in the economy. You should check out a site like www.thewallstreethunter.com for good information on what is going on in a market like this..

Good luck....

-Quite the Gambler- aren't you?! This is NOT a good time to buy stocks...But if you INSIST- then close your eyes, go "enee-menee-minee-mo", -roll the Dice, & good luck! Otherwise, I'd put your $$$- in a good One Year CD, & wait the Current Market Volitility out... Things will begin settling down AFTER the November Election & we find out who's gonna be running things for the next four years... :)
