What are the best way/places to invest?
I know nothing about investing...but would really like to. Any pointers? The best I know is that savings accounts gain a small amount, and that anyone who didnt invest in microsoft is now kicking themselves.

If nothing else, how do you find a good financial counselor, or whoever you would want to talk to about investing?

Investment can give you higher potential return than saving account. but decision to invest in which asset classes is very much to do with expertise that you have, financial goals that you had set and risk that you can accept. Ideally, higher risk able to yield higher return. But it is no essentially true. With knowledge and expertise, you can lower that risk.

As an overview, real estate offer good recurring income but it requires high populated location and to be bought at discounted price (than the current market price). Stock market can offer you both profitable short-term and long-term return but requires you to do a lot of homework and keep in touch with the market trend.

Last but not least, invest in your own business. this can be difficult if you are working for someone else, but it is not that difficult to begin with MLM or whatsoever.

Invest in Mutual Fund: You should know the meaning of mutual funds, before you choose to invest in mutual funds. These funds are a type of security that can be traded on the stock market, allowing shareholders to buy and sell shares in the funds. The revenue generated by purchase of shares is used by mutual fund manager to buy more shares of specific stocks, bonds, and other market securities and money market instruments.

Since the prices of the stocks, bonds, and other securities held by the mutual fund vary, the value of the fund changes. The average value of every share of the mutual fund is fixed daily based on the total value of the underlying securities held by the fund.
