It will go up and you will lose an unlimited amount of money while paying margin interest for the privilege. The stock could become difficult to borrow causing the dealer to take it from you to honor a sale which would mean that you cover your short when you don't want to.

Well, the price can go up.
Unlike regular investing, your losses can be exponential in shorting a stock. If you just bought a stock and went long the most you can possibly lose is your original investment.
If you lose big on a short, it can wipe you out. Car, house, retirement, bank accounts, etc...
