I can't believe someone would thumb down UMBIX...That is one awesome fund and manager....
Also. I Am sure if that was thumbed down this one will be too...but I am making all kinds of money in JSVAX
Janus Funds....I love the fact a lot of people hate them. I stuck with them and am sure glad I did!

I suggest the S&P 500 - its returns are historically among the highest over the long term. |

Check out OAKBX, for a fund to stick with in all kinds of weather.
Also: VTRIX, OBIOX, OBCHX, PRIDX |

In the markets, you can expect to average at least 8 to 10% over the long term.
The right fund depends on a number of things, including the amount you have to invest, and the amount of risk you are willing to take.
A good starter fund at $1000 is Vanguards Star fund. If you have at least $3000 I'd start with their Total Stock Market Fund.
If you have more than $10,000 you should diversify into two ore more funds, to further spread the risk.
Stay with index funds to minimize the management fees - and make sure the funds you select have no front or end loads. |

OFALX. It's run by Robert Olstein. He is one of the best fund managers out there. |

whatever you do, make sure to split your money into several funds...That way you can protect yourself from losing all of your investments. |

Mutual Funds are garbage. They are constantly raising their fees for diminishing margin returns.
You are better off buying ETFs, their fees are much lower on average. |
