What is Spreads in forex trading?

Spreads are the number of pips separating the bid and ask for a currency pair. They can range from 2 pips to 100+ depending on the currency pairs.

Spread is the difference between the "bid" and the "ask". It's basically the difference between the lowest price sellers are willing to sell, and the higher price buyers are willing to buy.

.
it's the difference between the asking rate and the bidding rate.

EURUSD
Ask: 1.5703
Bid: 1.5700

The spread is 0.0003. That amount is the cost you going to pay when you finalize your deal, and it'll end up in the market makers' pocket, ie the brokers' pocket.

Forex DIY
The spread is the difference between the bid and the ask price.

For example:
Taking on EUR/USD quote, the bid price is 1.8000 and the ask price is 1.8010. Using a online Forex trading platform, if the Forex trader clicks "Sell" button, he/she sell Euros at 1.8000. Likewise for buying, if the Forex trader clicks "Buy", he/she will buy Euros at 1.8010.

The spread is basically the difference between the buying price and the selling price of a currency pair.

Spreads are the fees that you pay to your trading broker every time you make a trade. For example, if you buy the EUR/USD (at the buy price) and immediately sell it (at the sell price), you'll incur an immediate loss because you have to pay for the difference between the buy and sell price.

The difference between the buy and sell price (i.e. the spread) is usually a fixed number of pips. For example, the spread on the EUR/USD pair can be as low as 2 pips. This means that the difference between buy and sell price is 2 pips.

Hope this helps.

Common Sense
It's the difference between bid and ask.
(which is no different than stocks, bonds or almost anything else that's trade-able).

No offense..... you're about 5 years away from trading Forex, based on your question. This is nowhere as easy as many people would like you to believe.

It's like when you're at an office party and there's all this food laid on on tables. That's called a spread. But in forex trading, the spread never includes shrimp. Why, I couldn't tell you. But I've done a lot of forexing and shrimp is taboo.
