You give them that money so that they will hold your reservation. Sometimes, they will give that money back to you after your event & they have inspected the hall & found no damages/messes that will cost money to repair or clean. If there are any damages/messes, they may take money from your deposit to fix/clean & then return the remainder to you.
Other times, they may put that money towards the total amount that you owe them in the end. |

they want you to give them that amount of money first just incase you reck the place, if you clean up afterwards you should get your deposit back. or it could mean what the first guy said, about securing the place for you. |

It means you give them $2000 as security to hold the hall for you on whatever date, they will not advertise the hall or what ever to anyone else. However if you withdrew your booking, if it were not for the deposit they would be at a total loss for that day, as it may be very unlikely they can rent it to another party on short notice. |

it means that you need to give them 2000 dollars upfront to pay for the Quinceanera to pay for it a depposit is when you put money into an account or another way to explain it is if you have 3 piggy banks and you have a fun money piggy a savings piggy and a quiceanera piggy if you put money into them you are depostiting money its something many companies do to ensure a sale sometimes it can be annoying hope that i helped |
