a stakeholder is not necessarily someone who has an investment in a certain company. ANY individual, group or business with a vested interest (a stake) in the success of an organization is considered to be a stakeholder. a stakeholder is typically concerned with an organization delivering intended results and meeting its financial objectives.

in general, a stakeholder can be one of two types: internal (from within an organization) or external (outside of an organization).

examples of a stakeholder are an owner, manager, shareholder, investor, employee, customer, partner and/or supplier, among others. a stakeholder may contribute directly or indirectly to an organization’s business activities. Other than traditional business, a stakeholder may also be concerned with the outcome of a specific project, effort or activity, such as a community development project or the delivery of local health services. A stakeholder usually stands to gain or lose depending on the decisions taken or policies implemented by a certain company.

hope that helped :)

A stakeholder is someone who has an interest in the business. It could be someone who has invested money into the business, but it could also be someone who is effected by the business, for example an animal rights charity is a stakeholder in companies that test products on animals. Why? because its something that effects them.

dont get stakeholder and shareholder mixed up. They are two completely different things. A shareholder is someone who has shares, financiall or not in a business. That is diferent to a stakeholder.

Here is an online definision of a stakeholder. 'Any person or group with a vested interest in the outcome of a project or plan'.
Here is an online definition of a shareholder.'a person or body corporate holding shares in a company'

Note the two are very different.

The first answer is only partly correct. A stakeholder is ANYONE who is affected by the company and its actions. For example the company's employees, it's shareholders, anyone who buys its product, anyone who lives in the vicinity of the company (ie if it's a factory). ANYONE with a vested interest in the company and its products. This can even extend to politicians and councillors.

Ahhhh an assignment answer, read about stakeholder in wikipedia, stakeholder anyone is interested in your job i.e. customers, tax, government, clients...etc. Good luck.

rovel .
a stakeholder is NOT just those that invested money. This is different from stockholders.

It could be any person, company, group, community ect... that is and will be affected by company/organization's action

e.g. ABC company is a mining company in XYZ town. Citizens of XYZ are also at stake should anything happens to their community not just the investors of ABC company. In fact, workers for the ABC company are also at stake since their economic status is linked to their job. The local government would also be involve here should they need to pass on local resolutions. People from other source of livelihood could also be at stake for instance, gold traders and brokers. trucking and logistic companies ect...

Someone who has invested money into a company and has a share of any profits,

Where a shareholder has a share on the stock market a stakeholder will own a percentage of the firm. It's a gamble as your firm may got bust and you can lose everything that you own.
