After the government has taken it's cut. Gross is before the skank.

Emily
I think that NET is after all the deductions are taken out eg, tax, national insurance.

GROSS is what you earn before the deductions eg, before the government take all your money and spend it on petrol drinking cars and expensive houses. (Not that I'm bitter)

as above answers.....

the income BEFORE tax and national insurance is taken off is described as 'Gross income'

taxed till i die,
net is after deductions, tax insurance etc

Pat
that would be your income after tax and national insurance

antoinebachmann
typically, net of taxes. and often, net also of any compulsory contribution (social security, unemployment insurance, etc).

Nett income is what you take home after all deductions have been taken. National insurance and income tax. As opposed to gross income which is what your salary is called before deductions.
