The best country to invest in is All of the Above! And you can do it right in the comfort of your home in the foreign currency market.
Personally, I have found foreign currencies (Forex) to be fascinating - as well as quite profitable. I have travelled extensively throughout the world and I am fascinated by how things such as politics, weather, consumer spending etc. are able to move the currency markets.
With Forex and investor can take advantage of some very favorable leverage to make a relatively small investment work quite efficiently for you. By using techniques such as hedging you are able to keep any losses small while capturing some very nice gains. Oh and by the way there is the ability to capture some very nice overnight interest on your currencies depending on which pairs you trade.
Bottom line is that I enjoy "investing in other countries" by simply participating in the foreign currencies market.
By the way I am forming another Trading Team to evaluate some new Forex strategies. We welcome "newbies" and simply trade with demo accounts so there is no financial risk.
Drop me a line if you are interested. We are looking forward to learning together.
Best wishes for a prosperous 2007.

It really depends on how much you have! Remember that usually the best place to invest if you have small amounts is your own home country. So if u live in Australia - then invest there!
But if u have lots of money to invest you can consider investing overseas. The major benefit of investing overseas is that you can invest in faster growing countries. For example, both India and China are growing very quickly, so investing there will mean u can make more money faster.
BUT remember risk increases with reward!! Some countries may not have good legal systems - so that if the company u own goes bankrupt u may not have any legal status. Also if the government is not stable there are many problems. An example is the recent coup in Thailand - shares dropped dramatically!
A major consideration when investing overseas is the foreign exchange considerations. For example: say u wanted to invest US$100 in Indian shares. At current exchange rates u could get about Rs 4400 worth (as 1 US $ is about Rs 44)
Now if the US $ rises and becomes worth Rs 46, your Rs 4400 worth of shares becomes only $US96. Hence u've lost $4 just because of foreign exchange rates. (However, this works the other way too - if the US$ falls u get more back!!)
Finally, it's usually more expensive to invest overseas as the stockbrokers charge more.
In conclusion, for a small amount, it's best to invest in your home country.
But if u really want to invest overseas, it's probably best to invest in a mutual fund which invests overseas as they know what they are doing, and would have 'hedging' in place - which is a tactic used to avoid foreign exchange problems. Also they would pick countries which are relatively safe. Good luck!! |

China and India are the best countries to invest in, to earn profit.
Because of their cheap skilled and unskilled labour.
Big market is also one of the most crucial reasons that makes them in my hitlist.!! |
