If you want a career investing in the stock market, it does not really matter. Neither of those majors is going to be partiuclarly helpful. You might better get a major in logic and mathematics. I expect they will both be of more benefit. Statistics might also be of benefit. But self education is what you should concentrate on. |

I graduated with a health science degree; I no longer practice. However, I invest in the stockmarket, I don't have any of those fancy business degrees. You don't need to have a business degree or any degree for that matter, in order to be a stockbroker.
As a stockbroker all you do is place buy and sell orders; full service brokers also give info about the market's analyses; info that full service brokers get from financial analysts who are employed together with them in the same equities corp. In other words, full service brokers, get facts about the market from financial analysts, most of them don't do that kind of research.
I'm not a stockbroker, but a stockmarket, technical investor. I can tell you for sure that you don't need a degree or business degree in order to be a good investor. |

A business degree with help you, but you should earn a concentration in the program that is more difficult at your school. If your school is known for its finance department it might be more beneficial for you to go with finance rather than economics.
