What is the best online brokage company?
i am becoming more active in my trades and am looking for a new brockage company i have sharebuilder right now

I use Charles Schwab. At $9.95 a trade there are few cheaper and you have to do a lot of trading before that makes a real difference. What I like about them is that, whenever I have a need to talk to a human about something, whoever answers the phone 24/7 knows all the answers. All of them. Every time. I never get put on hold, transferred to another department, referred to their web site. I get a straight, authoritative answer from the first person on the phone. That speaks volumes for the level of training of their personnel. And, they never have made a mistake on any of my accounts. Never. So, I am a happy Schwab customer.

I use etrade and scottrade and prefer scottrade. Happy investing.

Well zecco has customer service issues, scottrade bruned me on a stop order and I lost a further $85 on it. I can see why you want out of Sharebuilder though. Right now I am using Bank of America. They have been very helpful so far and actually called me when I had issues. I'll admit a little high $10 unless you can get in on a more select customer basis. But They have dividend reinvestment and lots of Mutual Fund options

Honestly depends on what your definition of active is?

I personally use Scottrade at $7.00 per trade and have been very happy with them. However, if you are a really active trader then even $7.00 dollars a trade can add up pretty quickly in commission cost.

There is a buzz about Zecco.com which offers 40 commission free trades a month, but I have never used them personally.

if you know what you are doing, they all will do, if you don't know what you are doing put your money in in a treasury direct account, you don't need to pay a broker to do that.

Don't listen to the rest, go with the best. Thinkorswim by far. They have the lowest commission fees and allow you to trade options. Being able to trade options is very important as this gives you leverage against loss as well as a greater % gain.

Hi, I wanted to let you know that my husband and I are not expects by any means but Wells Fargo Brokerage has worked really well for us. I put the main website below, just go the brokerage section.
We really had good experience. Hope it helps!

Zecco. (If you have less than $25,000.00 USD)
