What is the best possible way I can invest £4,000? I don't need to touch this money for at least 4years?

Put £3600 in a cash ISA. The interest you receive will be higher than other accounts and it will be tax free. Alternatively, put all of it into an ISA of unit trusts. As prices are very low now, it is a good time to invest. Again, whatever you make in the 4 years will be free of tax. Talk to an Independent Financial about the best funds for you.

Stock market ISA; Unit Trust, or Investment Trust. Four/ five years is the minimum recommended for this type of investment. You need to decide your risk level first in choosing the fund; higher risk generally has higher potential.

I read this article by secondopinion.asia and the unbiased opinion is that for money >5years, it should be invested over a period of time in a low cost diversified index funds.

Gabriela .
You could invest your money in low cost index funds.
If you want something more secure then ISA is better.
You yould gain more by investing in a pension, but that's long term.

go for an ETF, exchange traded fund, focused on BRIC countries. You can't go wrong with that in the long-run and it beats most domestic index . Brazil is risky but a good bet (EWZ)

You can go to your bank and speak to a customer service rep about your investment options. They will help you decide which product is best for you.

Safe bet is to put in a CD. The longer you put it in, the higher the interest payout. Talk to your bank or do some research online.

You ask the BEST POSSIBLE way to invest. You can probably invest in stocks which could make you a tremendous amount of money but you really need to know what you're doing.

If you want to look at the big picture start a retirement account with this money. Depending on your age you will really make a killing in the long run.
