What is the best stock to buy for short term gain???
Lost my job and don't have much savings left, still trying to find a job it has been three months - MI state is very harsh now. Our Kids have great schools, so moving is very touchy issue!!

I'm usually a great advocate of buying stocks, but you shouldn't be buying stocks right now because they are too risky, considering you need all your money right now to support yourself. You would be trying to gamble your way out of a bad situation.

There is no right answer for this because of the volatility of the market.

OMG, you have no job and kids and you are looking for a way to get rich quick. Stocks are not the way to go. You need to keep what little bit you have liquid. If its 10k or more put it in an interest bearing account. if its less than that, go to Costco and stock up on food you have to cook like beans, rice and meats. Pay up your bills and start job hunting. You have no business looking for stocks.

You would make more money if you went and bought a riding lawnmower. Went door to door and asked to mow a persons lawn for $25 dollars with your hat in your hand and your kids staring out the truck window looking hungry.

Alcan. It's going up on a daily basis. It's good for short and long term.

You should invest it all in Epicor Software.

In the short term, you are more likely to lose money than to make it in stocks.

Agggghhhh!! Whatever you do don't listen to Jim Cramer's stock advice. He certainly doesn't give stock advice for the SHORT term gain. To make quick money in the stock market on a short term the risk you have to take are a lot higher. But two stocks I'm looking at now with high risk high reward potential are Finisar (Symbol FNSR) and Tengasco (Symbol TGC). At this exact moment I would say FNSR is a good buy when it hits $4.50. And TGC just hit oil in 7 out of 8 wells. I'd buy them if the stock makes it down to $1.50

Watch Mad Money on CNBC and buy whatever Jim Cramer says the instant he says it. Immediately every stock he advises goes up 20%. After making your set percentage, sell immediately because he makes every stock overvalue and then they crash back down to reality.

No great answer here, but just wanted to say to not listen to the guy that said you won't make money. There are loads of technical analysts that prove that wrong.....
