Your first option should be to fund fully a retirement account. This is always a great investment.
If you have done this, or you wish to wait on the retirement fund, then one of the best things you can do is open a DRIP Plan.
They are seldom talked about because brokers make very little money when they suggest them. Yet, they have proven to be one of the best, if not the best, long-term strategy on Wall Street.
The best part is you get solid annual returns from well-known, safe Blue Chip companies like: McDonalds, General Electric, Pfizer, Walmart, US Bancorp.......etc........
They are inexpensive to start and maintain, and your dividends are reinvested for free.
They are perfect for small investors, as well as big investors. They are safe and allow you to not care about whether the market is going up or down. |

If you have additional earned income, invest it into an IRA - that will cut what taxes you have to pay on your income and start a path toward wealth for your retirement. At 22, time is on your side when investing for retirement - retirement now seems like a long way off - but it'll come quickly - start now - rewards will be tenfold over starting it later in life - |

My personal opinion, look at ETF's and a DRIP Plan.
Mutual Funds, as a whole, have become to expensive. |

mutualfunds will be the right choice...You can go for sectoral funds especially power sector(its high risk...but on 22 its not a risk) Invest in diversified equity funds based on the fundhouse, fundmanager, past performance,NAV... Reliance,ICICI are the toppers based on the amount the are handling.... |

Investing in a successful business is the best kind of investment in comparison to stocks, real estate, etc.
If you don't know any successful business to invest in then the best and safest investment is putting your $$$ into a high interest account overseas @12% APY.
You can receive your interest monthly (1%).
Contact me for more details (email me through my profile).
Best of luck! |

dont know about investing, but consider setting up a webproxy, notice this website gets spammed about how to access myspace and social networking websites,
just buy some webhosting + a domain, it can be setup in seconds and then spend all the rest on advertising.
all you need are googleads and adsence to make money every month.
you`ll still have $970 spare for investing however you like Lulz,
