The Pru have a good FTSE linked saver. You have to wait five years and you are guaranteed your initial investment is returned. if the FTSE goes up over those five years, even just 1%, you'll get a 40% return on top.
Premium bonds pay NO interest and £5000 worth of bonds in lets say 1980, would still be worth £5000 today. Yet in 1980 that £5000 would have bought you a hell of a lot more than today. |

Apple Computer: AAPL - mac sales are rising at over 25% a quarter, iphones are outselling all smartphones combined in US.
All of these are gambling plays in Macau, which is in china and is the leading gambling city in the world, bigger revenues than las vegas and growing 25%+ a year
Wynn - WYNN - the Wynn in Vegas, Macau and new hotels in Vegas (encore, wynn suites) and macau
Las Vegas Sands LVS - Venetians in Vegas, now macau and sands macau, building Venetian in Singapore, and 5 more casinos in macau
Melco - MPEL - partnership for Crown Casino in macau
These gaming stocks are expensive, but i think asian gaming will keep growing rapidly for the next 5 to 10 years. |

It depends on your tax status. Probably you should put £3000 in a cash ISA ( National savings is good) and the rest in a one year bond at a Building Society (6.95% before tax). |
