First of all, open an IRA account and trade in this account because it is tax sheltered, you will gain much more in the long term. You have to choose between traditiona IRA and Roth IRA. The general rule of thumb is if you have low income currently, choose Roth IRA. If your income is high, then choose traditional IRA.

After opening an IRA account, contribute your $2000 dollar into this account, there is an annual contribution limit, you can google it to check the exactly limit each year, this year is $4000.

You can keep contributing into this account during the year as long as your total contribution for the year is not over $4000.

The best investment vehicle for a person with little investment knowledge is buy mutual funds, the two funds that I like and consistently beat market is DODGX and DODFX, also fidelity has a number of good funds to choose from.

You should invest your money in the stock market. However, you need to have some knowledge on how to play the markets. So, you should invest your time in learning because this way it will be beneficial for your future.

Start by reading the book " Understanding Wall Street", then you should take some investing classes at your local community schools, which are very inexpensive. They have courses for adults. Make sure you understand technical analysis before you invest. Once you start investing take more classes as you go, this time with professionals, it will cost more money but it is very well worth it.

Knowledge is power!

Hi Investor, The best way to invest $2,000 would be to invest in Tax Lien Certificates. In Florida you would make 18% on your money. And you just keep on taking this money and invest in tax liens. Your investment is always safe because it is backed by the government and property. Just write a letter to the county of Florida and tell them you would like to invest in Tax Liens and tell them to send you information.

Open a Roth Ira.

If no IRA start there otherwise open a schwab acct & start building. IRA can be at schwab also. A classic core holding is ADX; a close end investment co that trades on NYSE. Big company growth with a high energy component selling at a large discount to asset value. Feel free to e-mail vegas_iwish@yahoo.com if more qs.

I would use a blend of low cost index funds which can be invested in through companies like Vanguard and other mutual fund shops. Index funds are an extremely effective low cost way to get good (but not great) returns.

Invest in the Foreign Exchange Market. Earn more interest in one month, than most banks will pay you in a year! I have averaged a 34% ROI on a monthly basis in the Forex. If you are new to the Forex, don't worry, I was too. I knew nothing. Honestly, I still know little about trading in the market manually, however I know the software and it does 95% of the work. I manage a $10,000 portfolio in no more than 20 minutes a week. If you're serious about earning a solid Return On your Investment, invest in FOREX. Check out www.simple4xinvesting.com to learn more or call me with any questions you may have.

Best Regards

P.S. $2,000 is more than enough to invest in the FOREX

I suggest ETFs.
