What is the first sttep to be rich?

Self control.

Get yourself a proper education, equip yourself with all the necessary knowledge.

Knowledge is power ! It'll always be ! and don't forget to think like a rich person !

I still believe that the difference between a rich and poor man lies on his thinking and knowledge but not the amount of money ones afford to spent.

You have already taken the first step :o) by asking the question. Several good next steps are outlined above. If you can determine what you really want in life and what you think you can be passionate about, and then pursue them with unwavering determination, you won't need to strive to be rich, you will be in more ways then you can imagine.

The first step to being rich is being able to pay yourself first.

To have money. They always say "You have to have money to make money" and its true. If you were sitting on 20k you could buy some stuff (guitar, car etc...) and sell for 1-2k more than u bought it every day.

The first step is to have as less debt as possible. The rich are rich for one simple reason: little to no debt. Next, familiarize yourself with different investments. Then, determine your goals. You say to be rich, so you want financial security. So you may want long term goals. Get a good mix of investments with low correlation to each other, fund your investments regulary, and you're well on your way.

Well, do you really have the desire to be rich? Are you willing to pay the price to become rich.

I have an article written about this,

Take a personal inventory of who YOU are first. Before you take the journey, It helps to know what you are driving. Only then can you make an educated decision on which path to take.

Getting out and staying out of debt... do not buy things with credit unless you can afford to pay them off before you are charged interest
