until some world situations settle down, gold should continue to rise. seems gold is tied to bad news.

not good why?

Absolutely volatile.

Gold moves with perceived general risk to the economic strength of the domestic commodity. If the dollar looks to be weaker, there's a flight to metals. And the dollar can be weakened by Iran, oil prices, turbulence, too many butterflies in Vermont, etc.

Gold is a long-term hedgeing point.

There will be a lot of speculation over the monthly settlement of contracts of the month and finding ways to square the position. There seems to be some pessimism over it. So downward movement is expected.
