Well i'm a student who invested in seagull for educational purposes yet to receive my first salary. What ever the situation this is what I think we should get as a refund. we pay 10.8% of the total income that we will get (as in the contract we sign with them) say if it is 1 slot we pay 6500/15=433.33 a month to get a salary of 4000 that means are actual salary is 3566. so i think they should pay all customers this months salary (since we have worked that one month) 3566 and 43.33* the rest of the contract months that have been signed. Plus a compensation of an extra month of salary for time and effort wasted. plus about the website www.seagullmembers.com if we don’t send the detail to help they wont be able to do the task they set out to do(if they actually do) so i suggest that we give only our email and first name and other investment details etc which they cant track us on. And what we think should happen but don’t give any personal info where they can contact u or anything like that. becoz if we are already in a rut we will fall deeper becoz people always take advantage of people at their lowest of times. so hoping for the best!! in prayer.. |

This scam appeared to be legitimate judging from the way it was conducted. Who can be blamed? because this looked like a real job oppurtunity. The fact that companies demand an advance from new recruits is quite normal in India. Also, most individuals who fell for this had to work to get paid, so no one felt suspicious about it. The more work you do, the more you earn. Anyone who was too greedy went on to start a sub-contracting business hoping to earn easy money; they are the ones who feel the pinch the most.

But they have not given any details of the person whos is accountable for the information we give or whether they protect the privacy of the data you submit. I have doubt on this site too.
I do not want to give my details unless they clearly say who are they.

Hei my registration number is 19**. Then im a older member of the seagull. At that time i only got one slot. Because I never trust them. because No one know what they doing. At the beginning Their target was school levers. Because Younger persons not Thinking Much. They did this fake during 10months. can you believe that.
But what kind of roll did that nation trust dehiwala bank manager at da seagull office. Is he also a partner of the seagull. Is nation trust bank have any kind of agreement with seagull. Who knows.
Any one knows?

Seagullsoftwares is a fake alright. Now what we have to think is what are we going to do about it.
I have heard in news ( 26/10/2006 ) CID has busted another place at kompannaweediya . it seems like the same people. And kompannaweediya police is taking the complaints for loosing money over this. But less than 100,000 . For more than Rs 100,000 , u have to make the complain to the bamba police.
And beware there is another company advertising the same way ( work at home ) in papers. These guys were advertising past few weeks in observer. It’s a place at ratmalana. ( check out the 22/10/2006 Sunday observer- page 82 ).
And please let the others know about this.
And u guys there is a another thing. Even though we ignore it, it was very clear that the seagull web site was not properly designed ( professionally ) .( deke panthiye vedak wage neda ). And the ratmalana joint is (www.ciahomejobs.com ). They don’t even give a demo.
So, guys beware. |

You can not trust the information in who-is-records. Domain owner can change them at anytime (just a matter of login to the domain control panel. Just like changing the address associated with yahoo mail box.). Most probably the available information can not be true.
By the way be careful when sending your information to http://www.seagullmembers.com/. They do not mention why they collect this information. Or what are they going to do or anyone doesn’t know anything about that company. No contact information or any identifiable information. The domain is also registered to an American. I directly don’t have any information to prove that it is a fake company.
Most important thing is that they don’t have a privacy policy. No one can collect personal information without having a privacy policy or disclaimer. Domain is register is yahoo (This site is definitely not a site belong to Sri Lankan government.). They say that Our First meeting will be held on 30th of October 2006 (9.30 - 10am) Near the Seagullsoftwares (Pvt) Ltd. BUT NO VENUE.
If anyone found the correct contact information of the owner please post the phone number. I send couple of mails. But no one is answering. My advice is please be careful. Do not let them cheat you again.
