Try living in the UK!!!! We can moan about petrol costs but I don't think you can. The USA has around 5% of the worlds population and produces over 25% of the C02, do the math!!!! Get a more fuel efficient car. |

Its all competition two gas stations across the street from each other one lowers a penny the other lowers two but then they get to where they are not making as much money as they could so they say hey lets make it four bucks on Monday then Tuesday its 3.99 3.98 3.97 and so on its all about the Benjamins. |

I'm not sure. But I don't think the election had anything to do with it, the gas was already up before yesterday. |

All the oil in the world basically gets put into a pool and then priced. Expert estimates on how much we have left will affect prices (usually cause them to go up), when a pipeline goes down there is less supply so it causes prices to go up, and when there is unrest and violence in an oil producing region prices go up because there may be less supply for the demand. IT IS ALL ABOUT SUPPLY AND DEMAND. People need gas and gas companies know this. This is why the OPEC wants to cut oil production to prevent the prices from dropping any further. But Americans should not complain too much because gas is about three times more in the UK and Europe than here. Prices have nothing to do with elections Only presidential elections because the rest of the world may see the new president of US superpower, and oil producing nation may make some major changes to US policy. So gas prices fluctuate with supply and demand and any major international news that could affect the supply. It's the same as stocks. Prices change with the present conditions surrounding oil. |
