What is your best stock market tip for the kind of economy we are in?

If I didn't have my money tied up in other stocks right now, I would follow my Dad's advice and buy SO, Southern Company. He's 86 and is very wise in these matters. Just my opinion.
It won't make you rich quick, but it's a very solid company and isn't going under or going to lose money. It just gradually rises all the time and has rather good dividends too! Check out a long term chart on it.
Here's a link to the chart:

Avoid companies with too much debt. This kind of economy will sink them.

Hi,

The best stock tip for this economy is the same for all economies, but it's particularly important in the current economy.

Buy up companies with a long history of paying increased dividends, and which provide basic human needs:

1. Strong consumer brands

2. Utilities

3. Real Estate Investment Trusts

4. Master Limited Partnerships

DON'T invest with the idea of selling at a profit later on. I can't tell you when these kinds of stocks will rise in price (though they'll probably suffer less than so-called "growth" stocks).

Reinvest the dividends.

Hold them for as long as you live.

best, Rick

Be very carefull to what companies you invest in. There is a lot of uncertainty still out there that can affect any company. Also make sure that any investment that you decide to make is for the long run. Anything short term is just too risky and you face getting burned hard like most people have over the last few months.

I hope this helps you out, but if you need more information just email me and I will be happy to help you out more.

Active traders can make money on up and down moves. Requires lots of work and a strong stomach. One trend I think will continue is price increase in agricultural chemical stocks. Check out the leaders in the industry at the link below. Buy your picks on dips......
