What low stocks should I invest in that will probably go up in the future?
I have $1000-$2000 dollars to invest in, and I want to but some low stocks that will probably go up in the next 2 or 3 years. I was thinking of Ford... anyways I need help I really don't know about the stock market.

General Electric GE is a great buy right now. It sells for under 18.00 a share currently, and future estimates put it at 60.00 a share in exactly one year. It is a very stable company, if it survived the great depression than it can survive this recession. Look into them, I did, and right now it is down but in the very soon future it will be back up and thriving.

OK . so now you have a list of stocks that you can take your bets on. Or pick out several stocks, and call yourself diversified.

Your best bet with the level of investment knowledge and dollar amount is to find a managed product to invest through. This is a mutual fund, closed end fund, or unit investment trust - why these you ask? Well, when you buy into a managed product, you get your money managed by a professional fund manager, or team of managers (in the case of the mutual fund. As to the exchange traded, and UIT, the portfolios have been built by professional full time managers). Does that sound expensive? - it sounds that way but isn't because you only have to pay the fund manager based on your amount invested in the fund. That often runs about 1% and is built into the fund performance tables.

In the example of a mutual fund, your buying the fund gives you exposure to many many stocks - in some cases over 500 to 1000 - of which have been selected by the manager, and the manager trades the portfolio according to the funds rules. There are many funds and managers out there to choose from (like 8000). See your financial advisor who can help recommend a fund that is right for you.

Who Else?
Ford is pretty risky - if you buy it, buy GM, too. It's unlikely that both of them will fold, but one almost surely will. A better investment is Nvidia (NVDA), a high-tech company that makes graphics controllers. They've been as high as $36 a share, and they're under $8 per share right now. The tech stocks should rebound very soon, whereas autos may never.

No forget Ford.

Consider Ensign Group, Almost Family, EZcorp, Nestle's, Altria, or even Microsoft at these prices.

Check out CDE
It's a GUARANTEED winner;-)
Under a buck now and will be several $$ in 2-3 years. Guaranteed. Seriously. Keep an eye on it.

btw, forget about Ford...they probably won't even make it thru '09 or they'll get taken over for pennies on the dollar. The shareholders will get shafted...as usual.
