Look at their Earnings. If earnings are going up per quarter/year, then the stock will also go up, regardless of the bumps. Other good signs is if insiders are buying alot or if they just came out with a good product. I bought Disney stock the weekend before "Cars" came out. Also pay attention to the news. Military stocks went up after we invaded Iraq. |

If the number of stocks bought is more than the number of stocks sold in the same period then the stock price goes up.

It's called supply and demand. The more people wanting to buy something the more it is worth. When the supply exceeds the demand the prices go down. There is also speculation on the companies profits and the stocks value going up. |

Stocks go up based on how many people are buying versus how many shares are left available. Basically the more people that are willing to by it at its current price the more the stock will move up. More demand higher price, less demand lower price. Most people tend to agree that volume moves the prices of individual stocks but also the market overall will affect individual stocks. |

The main indicator for stock value is the issuing company's balance sheets, quarterly results, and market analyst's projections that will induce investors to purchase the companies' shares. It goes without saying the results generally have to be positive ... (insider trading aside!.That is a company (indirectly) purchasing its own stocks with a view to give the market the false impression that there is significant though unexplained demand for this company's stock, when there really isn't ... this is illegal of course, but the double dealing must be revealed to the general knowledge of the market - sometimes not an easy thing to discover, as it happens behind the scenes) |

Two things: anything and everything.
Two more things: supply and demand.
Another two things: fear and greed.
All of these move a stock. |

Greed!
A greedy person believes he or she can buy your shares at a bargain and then sell higher to someone else for him or her to make a profit. |
