What shall I do with this money?
I have been left £100 in a will from my great step-grandmother, but I never really knew her, so it doesn't feel ethical accepting her money. I thought about donating it to a charity, but which one? I would love to donate it because I believe others would benefit from it. Any ideas? Thank you.

If you want to give it to charity, that's admirable, but why not invest it in a Growth mutual fund for 50 years first? At an average of 8% annual growth, your £100 will grow into £4,600... If you add a pound a week, it'll grow into £40,000!

Mckenzie
Well, maybe you could donate it to one of the poorest cities in the world. That could make a difference. Good luck.

That's a really thoughtful idea. How about you donate it to something that she liked. If you don't know of any then i always ind childrens charities to be the most deserving, like the ones that provide hope for young people who don't have much. Their may be some local ones for your parts

Keep it around just in case, You never know when you might be faced with hardship and may need it. And the fact she left it to you proves, although you didnt know her that well, she obvoiusly had a better opinion of you, otherwise she wouldnt have left it to you.

That my dear is up to you. If she wanted you to have it, then graciously accept it. If you would rather a charity, that option is up to you and you could do it in her name. Was she partial into anything particular? If she loved animals, then perhaps an animal rescue group or humane society. If she would have felt better with a homeless shelter or food pantry, then donate there. If you don't feel you knew her well enough, do what your heart tells you. There are lots of hungry people in this world and if it were me, I would donate there. We have lines of people in our area waiting for food. I can't imagine that there would be so many, but there are so many people out of work, so I guess it stands to show that there is a need there. Check out your area and see what would benefit most. I don't know what it is like there, but they have a United Way in the US that one can donate to and they distribute the moneys to needed areas that show why they need it.
